Dreams FC move home ground to Tema New Town following the closure of Accra Sports Stadium

Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC will temporarily move to New Town Park as their home venue due to the unexpected closure of the Accra Sports Stadium, per a Joy Sports report. The National Sports Authority (NSA) announced the closure on Monday without prior notice to the club, which, along with two other Premier League teams, calls the stadium home.Dreams FC received no official communication from the NSA about the closure. Instead, the Ghana Football Association directed them to find an alternative venue for their upcoming match against Kpando Heart of Lions. The club’s usual backup, the Tuba artificial pitch, is not yet ready to host a Premier League game, necessitating the search for a new location.Consequently, Dreams FC will face Heart of Lions at New Town Park, currently used by debutants Vision FC.This venue has been approved by the club licensing board and has previously hosted a Premier League match, including Vision FC’s opener against Berekum Chelsea. Dreams FC is scheduled to host Nations FC at Tuba on October 4, 2024.

I’m having sleepless nights because of high standards I’ve set at Vision FC – Nana Agyemang

Vision FC Coach Nana Agyemang has said he is having sleepless nights because he has set high standards for himself following a goalless draw against Berekum Chelsea in their first-ever top-flight game. The newly promoted side held the former Ghanaian champions on Saturday, ahead of their game against Accra Lions on Monday, September 16, 2024.This is the first top job Agyemang is handling in his coaching career after previously serving as an assistant coach to Laryea Kingston with the Ghana U20 male national team.“I put a lot of pressure on myself every time I get onto a new stage because I want to succeed. I have sleepless nights not because somebody wants me to, but because I want the team to play well,” he said after the game.“Right from the beginning of the season, people didn’t even think that Vision could play the way we do today.“The preseason wasn’t that great in terms of possession, movement in and out of spaces, and finishing. We are still working in phase four. Once we get it right and are able to score goals, I think that Vision will forge forward.”
