There will be no game played in the Ghana Premier League this weekend to allow room for the next round of games in the MTN FA Cup.This season’s MTN FA Cup has been very interesting and is set to get even better as it enters the semi-final round.The four remaining clubs in the competition are poised for victory in their semi-final games, knowing that victory will put them in a place for a medal.The clubs set to battle this weekend in the absence of the Ghana Premier League include Nsoatreman FC, Bofoakwa Tano, Legon Cities, and defending champions Dreams FC.Nsoatreman FC and Legon Cities will set the ball rolling when the two Premier League sides meet in the first semi-final on Saturday, May 11.Later on Sunday, Dreams FC battle Bofoakwa Tano in the other semi-final match.All two semi-final matches in the MTN FA Cup will be played at the WAFA park in Sogakope.

The Chairman of the Ghana FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur, has clarified why the committee is choosing to host the semifinal games at the WAFA Park in Sogakope instead of the original venue.The semifinal games for this year’s edition were initially planned to be held at the newly commissioned Tarkwa TnA Park, but Arthur said the facility could not be tested before the games, hence it isn’t ready.He has now offered insights into the decision to head to Sogakope in an interview with Asempa FM as monitored by footballghana.com.“The MTN FA Cup semifinal games were supposed to be played at the Tarkwa TnA Sports Stadium. The Western Region and the Volta Region were designated to host it this year and the Western Region won the bid.“So we penciled down the TnA to host it subject to when it is ready. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the outstanding league game between Dreams FC and Bechem United will be played on May 15. In a statement, the FA said the second Dreams FC outstanding league match between Dreams FC and Legon Cities FC will be played on May 22.“Dates for Dreams FC's outstanding Ghana Premier League Matchday 15 and 24 games have been confirmed by the GFA's Competitions Department.“After exiting the continental club competition at the semi-final stage, Dreams FC will honour their Week 15 matchup against Bechem United on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.“The Dreamers will then host Legon Cities FC in a Matchday 24 clash on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. All Stakeholders are to take note of the dates and act accordingly,” parts of the Dreams FC statement said.According to the Ghana FA, the dates for the two other outstanding Dreams FC games in the Ghana Premier League will be communicated in due course.
